Welcome to Trivial Dispute

I co-host the (almost) hit game show, Trivial Dispute, a comedy podcast that sheds light to trivial topics to bring laughter and joy to the whole family. All of the music, branding, animations, mixing and publishing is done by me—and with an accumulated weekly listener count of nearly nearly two hundred fifty on iTunes, Sound Cloud and Google Play, what could possibly go wrong?

New episodes release every Wednesday and showcase a special guest—or contender, however you want to look at it. Join the fun!

animated "minute Bits" from the show

The second half of Trivial Dispute is, literally, the Dispute section of the show, where we play interactive games, such as Would You Rather and Who Would Win, to draw creative answers. Above are two lovely animated bits from the show for your viewing pleasure.

Trivial Dispute has taught me numerous animation tricks, including character rigging and seamless workflow between Adobe Illustrator and After Effects. The podcast itself is an audible medium, but this project is about to become so much more.

RE: A TEDx EVENT

It's time to rethink pto

In the US, companies are not mandated to give paid time off to their employees, which results in limited Paid Time Off (PTO) allowance. Employees have become increasingly frugal with their time off and give in to the stigma surrounding “taking too much time.”

Re: is a collaborative TEDx Cincinnati event that serves to encourage PTO policy reconsideration, relinquish the stigma around taking PTO, and offer suggestions that allow employees to use their time effectively and desirably.

Getting the word out

This promotional teaser video showcases a number of industry professionals and renown speakers that would speak at the event, feeding fruitful supportive facts and ideas around the benefits of PTO.

HBO HALLOWEEN INSTAGRAM STORIES

HALLOWEEN COSTUMES MADE EASY...

HBO wanted to engage its audience on Halloween through the newly-developed Instagram Stories platform. The purpose of this project was to encourage viewers to dress up as their favorite HBO characters and tag the HBO Instagram account for a chance to be featured on its page. The task included producing unique animations that quickly and creatively described the elements that crafted each character's costume. Each animation was generated in After Effects using photographs, icons, 3D layering techniques, lights, and masks.

Anonymous Movie Title Sequence

Heroism isn't always honorable...

Given a faux movie title and list of cast/crew members, the intention of this piece was to develop an engaging movie title sequence and compliment it with appealing, relevant visuals. A title sequence involves strategic typography juxtaposed with imagery that subtly yet effectively hints at the story.

The film, Anonymous, utilizes meticulous camerawork, costume selection, and color grading to present the unsettling tasks four confidential social justice "heroes" perform to bring peace to the city of Chicago, Illinois. Their actions may not be looked upon as heroic, but they are indeed righteous. The full plot summary is located in the process book below.

Equipment used

  • Canon 6D

  • Sigma 24-35mm f/2 Art Lens

  • Konova K2 Slider

  • Magnus VPH-10 Pan/Tilt Head

  • Aputure Amaran LED Light Panel

TOY STORY KINETIC TYPOGRAPHY

You are a toy...

The vision of this project was to pull a short, yet engaging clip from a film or television show and animate the dialogue through kinetic typography. Typeface, color, movement and shape interaction were all considered in the development of this piece. This clip features the iconic "You Are a Toy" scene from Toy Story, delivering a nostalgic yet heartwarming vibe.

Pursuing Purpose Lyric Video

We are artisans...

The focus of this commission project was to display a song track visually and dynamically using kinetic typography. The text was animated in Adobe After Effects and combined with images that fit the mood of the song. Dust and flares were simulated to add an environmental effect and enhance the overall video interest. A grunge-like typeface was chosen to convey the song’s rough, expedient style, and provide the listeners a stronger understanding of the lyrics, as well as a visual guide throughout the track.

MERRY CHRISTMAS MARINA ❤️

I love you so much :) Here’s a song I wrote for you

LYRICS

INTRO (French)

“If you let this chance go by,

your heart will eventually become

as dry and brittle as my skeleton.”

You don’t have to wait for the moment

You said “I’ll take my sweet-old-time

Like pine trees in the winter—I’ll stay

Living the good life, tasting mocha

And candy cane”

Do you have a place for all your things?

Beauty engulfs your channeled dreams

Magnolia, you are (x4)

Every time I cry at the sight

Of feelings getting hurt by my work, like,

Usually I have good taste

But maybe (maybe) I impose myself too often

I want to see you bloom, because I know you’ll bloom great

Do you have a place for all your things?

Beauty engulfs your channeled dreams

Magnolia, you are (x4)

OUTRO (French)

“So, go get him for Pete’s sake!”
